The angling season started well in Norðurá. The summer salmon run is on and on June 17th there have been 154 salmon landed according to Einar Sigfússon who had just met with a new group of anglers arriving at the river.
There is a lot of catches in the various fishing-holes such as Hafþórsstaðahyl, Stekkur and Hræsvelg. Also on Eyrin and Skerin. Small size salmon are already running.
Visitors have been very pleased with the new accommodation both rooms, wader storage and sauna. The house is considered to have a good atmosphere.
The living-room has also been renewed and numerous gifts were donated to the house at it's opening a painting of three anglers by the river and also of Laxfoss. Both paintings and photographs now decorate the building.
Most rods have been sold and only a few days are available:
24th - 27th July, 2 rods
2nd - 5th August, 1 rod
5th - 7th August, 3 rods
7th - 9th August, 3 rods
All other dates are sold out.
