Owners of Norðurá in Borgarfjörður, Iceland began renewing the accommodation at the main fishing lodge on Rjúpnaás (Ptarmigan-hill) at the end of summer 2016.
The old sleeping quarters in the main house only provided three guest rooms and accommodation for guides. This has now been demolished. New foundations have been laid and next walls of guest rooms will be built.
All 14 guest rooms will have a view of the river and amenities will be comparable to a four star hotel. The new guest wing will be ready at the beginning of the next salmon fishing season.
